This week we will be doing some fun activities relating to our theme of the week: "Family, Friends & Me". The sensory table was filled with rice and little plastic people objects to search out and collect. During circle time we were able to learn more about 10 friends in class (the other 10 will go on Wednesday) as they shared "the homework assignment"(many must have older siblings to relate this extended learning project to homework). During art we used watercolors to paint our names. After these dry we will display them on the bulletin boards in the hallway leading in to the school. We were also able to celebrate our first preschool friend's birthday...Happy 4th Birthday Carter!
We now have a beautiful wall of artwork in our preschool! Show your child the pictures below and they can share with you which one they painted :) What an incredible first week of preschool...we look forward to Monday...don't forget to do your homework that was in the ziploc bag that went home with your child!
The first day was wonderful...a few hiccups but we were able to do all activities and followed the preschool schedule. During circle time we even had a special guest Mr. Cronk (Westview Vice Principal) come play his guitar and sing with us, he will be making regular visits to the classroom teaching music activities. I hope your child came home full of amazement and is eager to return on Thursday. Below are some photos from our first day...I try to always get at least one picture of each child in a group or individually when I do postings (I apologize if this is not the case for the 1st day....my camera only came out today when I remembered it was in my back pocket and I wasn't in the middle of teaching) I will be the lead teacher the first 2 weeks of school, Mrs. Chilcott during week 3 and then my advanced child development 3 students will take over starting at week 4. Your child has a homework assignment to complete (if it didn't make it home today you will get it Thursday). You can turn this in next class or by Monday next week. Your child will go home each day with a "daily report" I try really hard to read these before they leave the room but it is difficult with 20 reports and high school teachers busy filling them out. I would love feedback on your child's first day....please send me an email and let me know what they had to say or your impressions. In my 10 years of being a teacher, today was definitely a highlight...it has been my goal to open up Little Wildcats Preschool and it is now a reality!!! I cant thank you enough for trusting in my dream and enrolling your children in what I believe will be a wonderful program for our preschool children, high school students and community!
