For the last week of Fall Preschool we will discover colors. Today preschoolers painted a group rainbow during large group, ate rainbow fruit kabobs for snack and created a colorful class rainbow quilt during art. The science table during the last two weeks has been related to color as well. Preschoolers have been able to sort colored marbles using tweezers, look through color plexiglass to see objects turn different colors and watch white carnation roses change by drinking the colored water in their vase. Our sensory table offered preschoolers the opportunity to sort buttons of different colors.
Today during large group we went on a dinosaur hunt around the high school, using our special dino binoculars. We found 21 dinosaurs! For snack we ate cheese sandwiches that were in the shape of dinosaurs. During art we had our feet painted green by our high school teachers. We stamped our green feet onto paper, we drew some teeth and it turned into a dinosaur. These preschool dinosaurs are posted on the bulletin board outside the preschool.
This week was all about Space. On Tuesday preschoolers made astronaut helmets in art. On Thursday during art everyone created their own planets by painting a Styrofoam ball and adding lots of glitter. After these dry over the weekend we will hang them in our classroom. Our sensory table was full of moon rocks and astronaut figurines and our snack on Thursday was a fruit galaxy!
