Mr. Drew (Westview High School Vice Principal) came into the classroom to play his guitar and sing with us. We sang a variety of songs and even got up and danced for some of them. Reminder: Next week on Thursday May 28th, is our zoo field trip; preschool will start at 8:30am but will not end until 1:00pm on this day. Make sure to pack your child a sack lunch and dress them weather appropriate. Lets hope for a nice day!!!

Art: Letter W turned into a Watermelon, we used our fingerprints dipped in black paint to add seeds.
Large Group: Gymnastics!!
Book: Where the Wild Things Are
Today was a "Very" V filled day. During our large group we were able to roam the halls of Westview in search of Vegetables to add to our Veggie Soup. Snack was Vegetables (Carrots with ranch dip & Celery with peanut butter). I am so impressed with all of our healthy eaters.....veggies were a hit! Our art project was the letter "V" that was turned into a vase; we painted and stamped our hands on the paper to create a bouquet of flowers for the vase.
Did you enjoy your copy of "The Bestest Day Ever "Puppy Soup". On Tuesday during circle time I read the story that your children have been creating all year. There were lots of giggles as I read each page of the story. The class then came up with a list of titles that we should name our book. We then took a class vote to decide on the official name; Ryder's title "The Bestest Day Ever" won the vote, coming in second was Dylan's title "Puppy Soup" (which has become the subtitle to our book).
Teacher McKenna and Sara planned a super hero filled day. During our large group activity we took a walk around the school and when ever we came across a villain we sprayed it with silly string. This activity was enjoyed by all!! In art we used watercolors to paint our superhuman self; and then wrote down what our super powers would be. Zoo information and field trip forms were handed out today, please return them as soon as possible. We will be going to the zoo on May 28th. Preschool will start at the normal time of 8:30 and we will leave for the zoo at 9:15. After a fun filled day of exploring, we leave the zoo at 12:30 and return to school by 1:00. We are in need of 5 parents to help us chaperone this trip.
Today our teachers Brooke and Sarah focused on the letter R, with an emphasis on Rainbows. During large group we competed in a relay race. During snack we ate yummy rainbow fruit kabobs. Our art project we created a rainbow, using our fingerprints to make the different colors and cotton balls for the clouds. The book that was read today was also about Rainbows; as the teacher read we were able to put colorful objects on a board to create our own classroom rainbow.
