Happy 5th Birthday Cameron! Today he brought in some colorful cupcakes for our whole class to enjoy. The letter of the day was E and we learned about Elephants. For snack, our student culinary caterer, even made up fresh elephant ears for our class (Tortillas that were brushed with butter on both sides, sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar, and baked at 350 degrees in the oven for 10 minutes; flipping sides after 5 minutes). They were so yummy!! Teacher Payton planned out Elephant Hats for art time...the picture slide show below show just how adorable these turned out. We are so fortunate to have a high school student, Teacher Sarah, that works at the Oregon Gymnastics Academy teaching preschool gymnastics class. For large group today she led the class in a gymnastics warmup and then a rotation of practicing our summersaults, hopping on one foot, log rolls, balance beam work, and other gymnastic type activities. We definitely plan on doing gymnastics a couple more times during the school year...everyone seemed to enjoy it!
